McCarty, Scheuerman close strong to win Clinton
Chad McCarty put together three solid, under par rounds over the weekend to win the 2011 Clinton Riverboat Days Amateur. McCarty posted 15 birdies over the 54 holes against ten bogeys to finish at 5-under par 211. He was four shots clear of second place finishers Steven Ihm and Dane Worley. This was the third win at Clinton for McCarty. He also won the title in 1998 and 2007.
In the Senior Division Tom Scheuerman was the champion after closing with a final round 74 to finish at 2-over 218. He was three shots clear of Todd Hingtgen, who also shot a final round 74, and five clear of Del Miller who posted the best final round of the Senior Division with a two-under 70.
