16th IGA Four-Ball Championship
Michael Wuertz's birdie on the final hole at The Preserve on Lake Rathbun Saturday was enough to claim a one-shot victory for he and his partner, Nate McCoy. The birdie gave the team two rounds of 64 to finish at 14-under par 128, just holding off Jon Brown and Nate Dunn. Brown and Dunn closed with a final round 62 to finish at 129. It was the second consecutive win in the IGA Four-Ball for McCoy and Wuertz, claiming the title in 2010 at Ames Golf & Country Club.
Brian Fell and Ron Post defeated George Gartelos and Todd Hingtgen on the first playoff hole to win the Senior Division. The two teams were tied at 8-under 134 after regulation. Fell and Post put together rounds of 67-67 while Gartelos and Hingtgen followed their opening 66 with a final round 68.
The 16th IGA Four-Ball Championship was contested at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake in Moravia, IA. The Preserve is part of the State of Iowa's Honey Creek Resort located on Rathbun Lake. 74 teams entered the Four-Ball.
