Sectional Qualifying at Otter Creek Golf Course, Ankeny
Wagner, Purcell, Paulson advance

The last three Iowa Girl's 4A individual state golf champions advanced through sectional qualifying for the 2011 Women's Amateur Public Links on Wednesday. Beth Wagner of Ankeny (72), Katie Purcell of Ames (73) and Kristin Paulson of Ottumwa (73) claimed the three spots. Punpaka Phuntumabamrung (74) and Lisa Meshke (76) were the 1st and 2nd alternates, repectively.
Wagner won the 2011 4A Girl's individual championship. Purcell, who now plays for South Dakota State, won in 2010 and 2009 for Ames High and Paulson, now at Iowa State, was the champion for Ottumwa in 2008.
The trio advance to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon for the championship proper. They will face two rounds of stroke play qualifying on June 27-28 to try and make the top 64 for match play.
