Mike McCoy wins his first Iowa Masters
July 6-8, Veenker Memorial Golf Course, Ames
It wasn't really a defense of the title, but Mike McCoy at least kept the Iowa Masters crown in the family. The 10-time IGA Player of the Year and Iowa Golf Hall of Famer captured the Iowa Masters on Sunday by shooting a final round 73 to finish at 12-under par 204, five strokes ahead of Matt Jennings of Prairie City. Last year Nate McCoy, Mike's son, was the victor. Nate has turned pro and now plays on the Canadian Tour. The victory was the first ever for Mike McCoy in the Iowa Masters.
