U.S. Open Local Qualifying

Iowa received the highest number of entrants into local qualifying for the U.S. Open Championship since at least 2002. 71 professionals and amateurs will tee it up at Davenport Country Club on Monday, May 14th with the top five advancing to the sectional round.

The USGA accepted 9,006 entries for this year's national championship to be played June 14-17 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. It is the fourth-highest total number of entries, 80 shy of the record number set in 2009 when the championship was at Bethpage Black in New York.
