2011 Hole-In-One Certifcates

If you make an ace simply send an email to noel@iowagolf.org with the following information:

  • Full Name
  • IGA membership number (i.e. GHIN number)
  • Date of Ace Hole information (number, yardage)
  • Club used
  • Course where Ace occurred
  • Address to send Certificate

You will receive…

  • Certificate of Accomplishment suitable for framing
  • Mention in next available Iowa Links electronic newsletter
  • Mention in 2011 Yearbook

2011 Hole-In-One Members

Willow Creek Golf Course in West Des Moines had a very exciting event happen late in the season on November 13, 2011, when K.C. Abbott made his Ace!  K.C. used his 6-iron to record his Hole-in-One on the 177 yard, par 3 fourth hole.  Congratulations KC!

October 18, 2011 will be a day that Alan Renken of Davenport never forgets.  This was the day, on the ninth hole at Crow Valley Golf Club that he made his Ace!  Using his 7-wood on the 165 yard par 3, Alan made history.  Great Job Alan!

Why have an Ace on a par 3 when you can have one on a par 4?  This was what Jim Bowie of Marshalltown thought when he reached the eighteenth hole at Elmwood Country Club on October 7, 2011.  Jim used his driver on the 292 yard par 4.  Great Job Jim!

John O'Hair of Indianola knows what it feels like to have his first, second and now third Ace!  The seventh hole at Indianola Country Club was the lucky hole on October 6, 2011.  It was playing 175 yards and John's club of choice was his 4-iron.  Way To Go John!

Recording her third Hole-in-One of the year, Cindy Junkins of Oskaloosa now has four total Aces in her career.  Her fourth Ace happened on October 6, 2011on the par 3, first hole at Oskaloosa Golf.  The hole was playing 132 yards and Cindy used her 9-wood.  Congratulations Cindy!

Jeff Ploeger of Burlington recorded his fourth career Ace on October 2, 2011.  This one happened on the thirteenth hole at Burlington Golf Club, which was playing 142 yards.  Jeff used his 5-iron to add to his collection of holes-in-one.  Way to Go Jeff! 

Not only did Jim Butler of Fort Madison shoot a 4-under par, 68 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course on September 24, 2011, he also had his 4th Hole-in-One!  It happened on the 200 yard, par 3 sixteenth hole.  Way to Go Jim!

According to the records at Cresco Country Club, Norma Hruska of Cresco is the only woman to have more than one Ace at the club!  Norma made her second Ace on September 9, 2011 on the 114 yard, par 3 eighth hole.  Congratulations!

Terry Turner of Marion didn't settle for just one Ace this year, he made two!  On September 8, 2011, Terry played the fourth hole of Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion in one stroke.  The par 3 was playing 142 yards and Terry used his 7-iron.  Way to Go Terry!

Dustin Atkinson of Ames had his first Ace at the Iowa Amateur and less than two months later he has made another one!  On September 5th, Dustin made a Hole-in-One on the 160 yard par 3, ninth hole at Ames Golf & Country Club using his 7 iron.  Congratulations Dustin!

Alex Allison of Clive will never forget his round of golf on September 6th.  He used his 6-iron to make history on the twelfth hole at Jester Park Golf Course in Granger.  The hole was playing 170.  Way to Go Alex!

There was a lot of excitement for one person at Copper Creek Golf Club on September 9th, when Tim Day of West Des Moines had an Ace on the 152 yard par 3, fifth hole.  Tim used his 7-iron to capture his Hole-in-One!  Great Job Tim!

Five times is a charm for Gary Vasey of Nevada as he recorded his 5th Ace on August 28, 2011 on the 110 yard, par 3 ninth hole at Homewood Golf Course in Ames using his pitching wedge.  Great Job Gary!

On the final round of the 33rd Iowa Senior Amateur at Sioux City Country Club, Ron Post of Manly had a Hole-in-One on the 172 yard, par 3 sixteenth hole.  Way to Go Ron!

Former IGA Intern, Jason Klein, originally from Waterloo made an Ace on August 20, 2011 at Tournament Club of Iowa in Polk City.  The day did not start off the way he had anticipated, but on the par 3 third hole, playing 181 yards, Jason recorded his "1" with his 7-iron.  Congratulations Jason!

Dustin Hall of Monticello was playing in the 84th Annual Eastern Iowa Golf Association fall tournament when he aced the sixth at the Monticello Golf Club.  It occurred on Sunday August 14th.  He used a 4 hybrid on the 216 yard hole.  It came at good time cause it helped him shoot a 65 to win the whole tournament at 11-under par, two day total of 133.

August 6, 2011 was a big day for Kevin Bergman of Monticello, when he recorded a Hole-in-One on the 130 yard par 3, eighth hole at Monticello Golf Club.  Way To Go Kevin!

One player will never forget the second round of the 109th Iowa Amateur on July 26, 2011 at Glen Oaks Country Club.  That player is Dustin Atkinson of Ames.  Dustin had a Hole-in-One on the fifth hole, which was playing 193 yards. His 4-iron was the lucky club.  Great Job Dustin!

On July 24, 2011, Terry Turner of Marion used his pitching wedge on the 138 yard, par 3 to record an Ace!  The 13th hole at Gardner Golf Course in Cedar Rapids didn't stand a chance.  Congratulations Terry!

Rodd Bullard of Des Moines played another round of golf at Waveland Golf Course during their Waveland's Golf Association Club Championship on July 24, 2011, but this round was different.  Rodd's 7-iron on the 147 yard par 3 made history on that day when he Aced the second hole.  Way To Go Rodd!

Mike Briggs of Burlington hit his drive on the 345 yard par 4 at Burlington Golf Club.  Moments later, Mike recorded a Double Eagle on the sixth hole on July 23, 2011.  Congratulations Mike!

Russ Bandstra of Pella made an Ace at Pella Golf & Country Club on Sunday, July 10th. His hole-in-one came on the second hole. It was playing 145 yards and Russ used a 9-iron.

Cresco Country Club was the site of one of its own, Norma Hruska's first Hole-in-One on Tuesday, July 12, 2011.  It happened on the third hole, playing 130 yards.  Norma used her 9-wood for her first Ace.  Way To Go Norma!

During the IWGA District 13 Team Play on July 11, 2011, JoDee Rogers of Adel made her fourth Ace on the 14th hole at Wakonda Club in Des Moines.  The par 3 was playing 150 yards. Congratulations JoDee!

Ken Molle will never forget the 147 yard par 3 second hole at Raccoon Valley Golf Course in Jefferson.  This is where Ken made his Ace with his 5 wood on July 10, 2011.  Great Job Ken!

Dick Martin of De Witt made an Ace on the first hole at Springbrook Country Club in De Witt with his hybrid club.  The hole was playing 202 yards on June 25, 2011.  Congratulations Dick!

Des Moines' own Ernie Wittmaier had an Ace on the eighth hole at Copper Creek Golf Club in Pleasant Hill.  The par 3 was playing 143 yards and Ernie used his lucky 8-iron.  Way To Go Ernie!

Mike Sulentich of Albia had his first Ace on the fifth hole at Albia Country Club.  Mike used his 8-iron on the par 3, which was playing 147 yards.  Congratulations Mike on your first Hole-in-One!

Traci Paulsen of De Witt made an Ace at Springbrook Country Club in De Witt on the twelfth hole on June 17th.  The 114 yard par 3 was no challenge for Traci and her 7-iron.  Way To Go Traci!

During the Senior Match Play at Fort Dodge Country Club on June 4th, Steve Kahler of Marion made an Ace on the thirteenth hole.  Steve's 4-iron did the trick on the 196 yard par 3.  Great Job Steve!

Bob Lester of Indianola had his first ever Hole-in-One on June 2nd at Indianola Country Club on the  sixteenth hole.  The hole was playing 115 yards and Bob fired the Ace with his 9-iron.  Congratulations Bob!

Richard Whitaker used his 8-iron to capture the first hole-in-one of his golfing career on Friday, April 29th.  The occasion came on the 150-yard fifth hole at Mt. Pleasant G&CC. Congratulations Richard!

66 year old, Joe McCurdy of Oskaloosa did not waste any time on April 13, 2011 at Oskaloosa Golf.  On the 169 yard, first hole Joe used his 5-wood to make his first Ace!  Great Job Joe

The ninth hole at River Valley Golf Club in Adel was the place to be on April 12, 2011, when Bob Young reached the tee.  He pulled out his 7-iron on the 135 yard par 3 and made an unforgettable Ace!  Congratulations Bob!

Brian Snitker of Oskaloosa started his golf season off the right way by making an Ace on the fourteenth hole at Oskaloosa Golf on March 30, 2011.  The hole played 152 yards and was no obstacle for Brian and his 7-iron.
