Bermel, Butler Crowned at Clinton Riverboat Days Amateur
The 2009 Riverboat Days Amateur was held Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 21 at Clinton Country Club. Kyle Bermel and Dean Cavanaugh both shot 215 in the Open Division of the three round tournament to cause a play-off. Bermel shot a par on the first play-off hole to defeat Cavanaugh. Matt Steddom and Chad McCarty tied for third with 218.
Jim Butler went into his final hole with a three shot lead, and played it safe to take the win in the Senior Division. Butler shot 217 followed by John Peters who shot 218. Scott Carnes rounded out the top three.
