Anderson's win overall crown at IGA Father/Son
Urbandale, IA – The 2009 IGA Father-Son Championship presented by The Preserve on Rathbun Lake kicked off Saturday morning at Jester Park Golf Course in Granger, Iowa. Both days experienced some delays due to weather, but despite the rain great golf was played throughout the two days.
The Junior Division played Jester Park’s Par-3 Executive course with Jack and James Henry of West Des Moines and Jim and Ryan Webb of Johnston coming in tied for first with a 65. The Young Adult division played Saturday afternoon and was led by Edward and Tommy Schick of Clear Lake with a 79.
Winning the Saturday afternoon open division was Lucas and Robert Boyd of Pella with a 70 and in the Sunday morning open division Bob and Jay Johnson of Urbandale tied with Brett and Johnny Bosworth of Des Moines for the win with a 72.
Bo and Bob Anderson from Urbandale won the Saturday morning open division with a 4-under-par 68. The low 68 held throughout the tournament helping the Andersons win the overall championship. Bo Anderson has had success in IGA events before, winning back-to-back Iowa Amateurs in 2001 and 2002.
