UNI Golfer Tyler Johnson Wins IGA Match Play
Tyler Johnson defeated Jeff Panek 3 and 2 Thursday afternoon in the finals of the IGA Match Play Championship presented by Caffrey's Steakhouse. Johnson, a senior-to-be at Northern Iowa played extremely steady golf throughout the final match. He birdied three of the first four holes to gain a 1 up edge, increased it to 2 up through 8 then won 10 and 11 to widen the margin to 4 holes. Panek birdied the par-5 13th to gain one back but halves on 14, 15 and 16 gave Johnson the final margin.
