Andrew Peter Runs Away with Iowa Junior Amateur
Andrew Peter of Decorah won the Iowa Junior Amateur after firing a final round 69 Tuesday. Peter finished the 36-Hole Championship at Waveland Golf Course at 4-under par 140. Kee-Socrates Fryxell, Jacob Stapp and Steven Ihm all finished tied for second at 5-over 149.
Blake Huser of Altoona won the 14 to 15 Age Division after shooting a two round total of 5-over 149. Huser shot a final round 73. Connor Peck of Ankeny finished 2nd after a final round 78 left him at 155 and Eric Krull of Buffalo Center and Ryan Gutz of Storm Lake finished tied for 3rd.
In the 12 to 13 Age Division, which played 18 holes Monday only, was won by Sean Song of Johnston. Song shot a 78 to finish 5 strokes clear of Connor Power of Ames and Alex Moorman of Centerville.
Caleb Peters won the 11 and under Division after shooting a 44 over Waveland's back nine holes. Caleb's round was highlighted by a birdie 2 at the par-3 13th hole. Tripp Kinney of West Des Moines finished second after a 47. Pictures of all the winners will be posted by Wednesday.
