Aossey, Rozek Close with 65 to Win Senior Division

Michael Wuertz (L) and Nate McCoy were the champions of the 15th IGA Four-Ball Championship
Nate McCoy and Michael Wuertz closed with a 4-under par 66 Saturday in extremely windy conditions at Ames Golf and Country Club to win by four strokes at the 15th IGA Four-Ball Championship. It was the first victory in an IGA Championship for either player. Wuertz and McCoy, who both play at Iowa State, had a two-stroke lead heading into the final round thanks to a 9-under 61 on a virtually windless day one.

Gary Rozek (L) and Sam Aossey closed with a final round 65 to claim the Senior Title
In the Senior Division the Cedar Rapids team of Sam Aossey and Gary Rozek came from five shots back with a nearly flawless 65 in the final round to nip Dan Naughton and Jim Curell. Their only blemish was a bogey on the difficult par-4 fourth hole, which was converted from a par-5 for the championship. The windy conditions proved difficult for first round leaders Tom Schill and David Studer and Kevin Pratt and Roger Wall as each team faded after opening with 66.
The 2010 edition of the IGA Four-Ball drew a record number of entries. 86 total teams competed, 51 in the Open Division and 35 in the Senior Division.
