Malone records Ace at Father-Son, wins $750 Gift Card

2010 marks year one of the partnership between the Iowa Golf Association and Hole-in-One USA. Hole-in-One USA is a national company which provides insurance for golf tournaments, specifically for prizes for hole-in-ones. The IGA has used the insurance this season on the Members Net Tour and last weekend for the Father-Son and Parent-Child Championships. On Saturday, Bill Malone of Ames became the first golfer to record an ace in an IGA conducted event offering hole-in-one prizes.
Malone, playing with his father in the IGA Father-Son Championship, used his 6-iron to ace the 167 yard 16th hole at Jester Park GC. “It was awesome!” said Malone, “My early thought was ‘Alright, I think dad can make this birdie putt.’ I knew it would be close but then it disappeared.” Malone’s shot earned him a $750 gift certificate to the Jester Park Pro Shop, courtesy of the IGA and Hole-in-One USA.
