IGA, Iowa PGA to offer one-day rules seminar featuring Ryder Cup official Brad Gregory

The Iowa Golf Association and Iowa Section PGA are partnering to offer a one-day seminar on the Rules of Golf, featuring PGA Master Professional Brad Gregory. The seminar is open to the public and will be held at Blue Top Ridge Riverside Resort on Tuesday, October 2nd. The cost is $35 and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. PGA Members receive 6 MSR Education credits for attending this event.
Gregory was the Head Golf Professional at the Red Carpet Golf Club in Waterloo, Iowa from 1981-2000 and he currently resides in Show Low, AZ.
In 1998 Gregory was appointed to the PGA of America Rules Committee and is currently the junior co-chairman of this Committee. Gregory has served as a Rules Official in over 30 major Championships including the PGA Championship, British Open, Masters Tournament, PGA Senior Championship and US Senior Open. He has served as a referee in three previous Ryder Cup Matches with Medinah being his fourth.
Gregory is the Director of Rules for the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship and he also serves on the USGA’s Amateur Public Links Committee. He has instructed over 20 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf workshops along with many PGA Section and NCAA Rules seminars.
Co-instructing with Gregory will be IGA Assistant Executive Director Chad Pitts.
Chad has been a rules official at many IGA Championships, USGA Qualifiers and collegiate events. He has served as an official at the Men’s Big 12 Championship, NAIA Men’s National Championship, NCAA Division III Women’s National Championship and NCAA Men’s Division II Super Regional. He has worked the past three USGA Men’s State Team Championships and will serve as the Official-In-Charge of the 2013 Big 12 Women’s Conference Championship.
Chad has attended five USGA/PGA four-day rules seminars during his time with the IGA. He instructs multiple rules seminars each year for high school, collegiate and interested golfers.
The seminar will focus on the following rules, including entertaining stories and examples from the field. Gregory will have just finished his officiating duties at the 2013 Ryder Cup Matches in Chicago the week prior and will no doubt have some entertaining comments.
Seminar to run from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
