Mitchell Martin, Conner Peck, Sara Pettitt and Todd Schmidt are the 2012 Herman Sani Scholarship award winners
The Iowa Golf Association (IGA) is pleased to announce the 2012 recipients of the Herman Sani Scholarship Awards. Todd Schmidt, Mitchell Martin, Connor Peck, and Sara Pettitt will receive the prestigious four year, $2,000 per year scholarship.
The scholarships will be presented at a special dinner during the annual Herman Sani Invitational Golf Tournament held at Hyperion Field Club in Johnson, IA on August 10th.
Todd Schmidt of Avoca, son Pete and Dee Dee Schmidt, graduated from A-H-S-T High School. Todd will be attending the University of South Dakota to study for a degree in Mathematics.
Mitchell Martin of Cedar Rapids, son of Michael and Annette Martin, graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School. Mitchell will be attending Wartburg College to study Biology and Psychology.
Connor Peck of Ankeny, son of Robert Peck and Amy Ellgren, graduated from Ankeny High School. Connor will be attending Indian Hills Community College this fall and will transfer to a four year school in 2013. His plans are to major in Business.
Sara Pettitt of Carroll, daughter of Todd and Pamela Pettitt, graduated from Carroll High School. Sara will be attending the University of Northern Iowa to major in Exercise Science and Pre-Chiropractic.
Herman Sani Scholarships have been awarded by the Iowa Golf Association since 1958. Including the 2012 recipients, one hundred fifty four outstanding Iowa high school graduates have received Sani Scholarships to assist them with their college educations. The awards are named in honor of the long time IGA volunteer who served as the Association’s secretary until his death in 1957.
Funding for the Sani Scholarships is provided by the IGA Foundation.
