Entry is now open to the 2nd IGA Senior Shootout for the top 32 on the IGA Senior Player of the Year points standings. The IGA Senior Shootout will be contested at one of the best 9-hole courses in the country, Stone Creek Golf Club in Williamsburg. In 2010 Golf Digest ranked it the 21st best 9-hole course in the U.S.
The Senior Shootout is a 32-person match play tournament, played over two days. On day one (Oct 6) players play 9-hole matches with a consolation bracket established for those losing in round one. Day two (Oct 7) features the semifinals and finals, both in the championship and consolation bracket, and are 18-hole matches.
Entry is open exclusively to those ranked in the top 32 of the Senior Player of the Year points standings (as of Aug 27) until September 6th. On September 7th entry will be open to the public until a full field of 32 is reached.
Last year, Bill Manske defeated Jim Curell in the final match to claim the inaugural championship.
