Iowa Golf Hall of Famer Dick Bruns passes away

Celebration of Life service to be held March 1st in Cedar Falls

Richard A. "Dick" Bruns, Jr died on Sunday evening, February 24th at the Windhaven Assisted Living Center in Cedar Falls of natural causes.

Dick was the 5th golf course superintendent to be inducted into the Iowa Golf Hall of Fame in 2009. In addition to his work "keeping the greens" at Washington Park Golf Course and Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls, Dick devoted countless hours as a volunteer for the Iowa Golf Course Superintendents Association and the Iowa Turfgrass Institute.
