The Iowa Section PGA team defeated the Iowa Golf Association Amateur squad 27-13 at the 2007 Iowa Cup Matches, held at the Tournament Club of Iowa on May 10th and 11th. The Professional team won all three sessions during the matches, earning 7 points to the Amateur team's 3 in the Thursday morning Four-Ball, taking 6 of 10 points in the Thursday afternoon Foursomes and capping it off winning 14 points to the Amateur's 6 during the Friday singles matches.
The matches pit 20 of the best amateurs in Iowa against 20 of the best professionals. The amateur team had won three straight matches from 2004-2006. The professional team had won the matches from 2001-2003. The format is match play with 1 point available per match.
