| Muscatine native won title at Landsmeer in 2004
Mother Nature finally got her way. After dealing with overnight rains the first two nights that left Coldwater Golf Links very saturated, an afternoon shower pushed the grounds over the edge. Due to large amounts of standing water and the threat of looming storms approaching the final round of the Iowa Senior Amateur was canceled and the championship was shortened to 36 holes for the Championship Division and 50-59 Age Division. John Peters of Muscatine was the winner of the championship for the second time in four years. He was victorious in 2004 at Landsmeer GC in Orange City. Peters followed an opening round 69 with a second round 72 to finish at 1-under 141, good enough for a one shot victory over Rob Christensen of Rhodes. Christensen, who won the Senior Am in 2002 at Carroll CC, opened with a 3-under 68 but fell to a 74 in round two. A group of five tied for third at 2-over 144, including Pat Ryan who fired a round two low of 68.
