On Saturday, June 30^th the IGA and IWGA co-conducted the first annual Parent-Child Championship at Jester Park Golf Club in Granger.  The format mirrored that of the IGA Father-Son played at Jester Park every August.  The 18-hole alternate shot tournament crowned champions in four divisions.  The Junior Division (8 & under), Junior Division (9 & 10), Young Adult (11 & 12 year olds) and the Open Division.    

George Hiller and daughter Katelyn of Clive won the Open Division by 3 strokes over Mark Williams and daughter Jordan.  The Hillers posted an impressive score of 2-over-par 73! Finishing in third place with a score of 77 was Trudie Higgs of Clive and grandson Alec Sankey West Des Moines.

On the Jester Park Executive Course Dick and Maddy Davidson traveled from Clarinda to capture the title in the 9-10 Age Division by two strokes over the runner-up team of Shelley and Harrison Gudorf of West Des Moines.  Brian and McKenna Waller won the 8 & under Age Division with a round of 76 on the Par 3 Course. 

The inaugural first place plaques in the Young Adult Division went to Mary and Broc Everett of West Des Moines after a great round of 79!
