The Iowa Golf Association is pleased to announce a wonderful group of host clubs for the 2007 championship season.
The Harvester Golf Club, near Rhodes, will host the 2007 Iowa Amateur Championship. The championship is scheduled from July 23rd-25th. The Harvester is currently ranked #21 on the list of “Greatest Public Golf Courses” by Golf Digest and is the 55th Best Modern Golf Course in the U.S. (public or private) according to Golfweek. This will be the first Iowa Amateur hosted by the club and the third IGA conducted championship overall. The club hosted the 2003 and 2004 IGA Match Play Championships.
The IGA Match Play Championship will be contested at Bos Landen Golf Course in Pella. The championship will feature a stroke play qualifying round on June 25th with 64 players beginning match play on June 26th. The semifinals and finals will be played on June 28th. In 2004, Bos Landen was the host site for the IGA Public Links Championship.
Des Moines Golf and Country Club, site of the 1999 U.S. Senior Open, will host the Iowa Mid-Amateur Championship from May 4th-5th. Des Moines G&CC has hosted multiple statewide amateur championships including the 2003 Iowa Amateur and the 2006 Iowa Women’s Amateur.
Other confirmed host sites include Davenport CC in Pleasant Valley for the U.S. Open Local qualifier, The Harvester for the U.S. Senior Open qualifier, Coldwater Golf Links for the U.S. Public Links qualifier, Spirit Hollow GC in Burlington for the U.S. Amateur qualifier and Jester Park GC in Granger for the Father/Son Championship.
