| IGA Club Forum Attracts Large Group |
| Wakonda Club hosts first ever 'Forum' February 1, 2007 The first ever IGA Club Forum attracted a large audience on February 1st at Wakonda Club in Des Moines. Over 50 attendees representing 21 clubs were on hand to hear some strategies and challenges facing golf clubs around the nation. Presenting these topics was Frank Vain (at left), President of the McMahon Group, a full-service golf club consulting firm out of St. Louis.
Frank touched on some ideas for growing membership and the direction golf and golf clubs are heading. He also spoke about what makes a good Board of Governors, the roles of various social aspects of a club as well as many other topics.
The IGA would like to thank Frank and the McMahon Group for taking some time to speak with the various clubs represented at the forum. The IGA continues to provide services of interest to all golf clubs around Iowa and we look forward to hosting more ‘club forums’ in the future.
