The team representing Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion rolled to the first ever Club Team Championship on Friday, September 29th. In a format that counts the best 3 of 4 18-hole scores, Hunters Ridge posted a total of 4-over par 217. In the Net Division, which counts the best 3 of 4 net scores on each hole, Lake Panorama was victorious with a 6-under 207. 2004 Iowa Amateur champion Nate Dunn led the Hunters Ridge team, posting an even par 71. Mike Sawyer went round in 72 strokes while the third score to count came from George Gartelos, who posted 74. Todd Hintgten rounded out the scoring with an 81. The Hunters Ridge squad finished 18 strokes ahead of the host Coldwater Golf Links team. The Net division was much more competitive as Lake Panorama finished 3 strokes ahead of Hunters Ridge. The entire Panorama team played very solid golf with team members Bill Douglas, LeRoy Oxley, Dick Groom and Larry Babcock firing net scores of 72, 76, 74 and 74 respectively. With the scoring format in the Net Division counting the best 3 of 4 net scores on each hole, every team member contributed to win. This was the first ever 'IGA Club Team Championship' held by the Iowa Golf Association and was contested at Coldwater Golf Links in Ames. Hunters Ridge Golf Course retains the 'IGA Club Team Championship' traveling trophy for the ensuing year. View Gross Results View Net Results
