The Harvester GC Hole 16

On Monday a team of 8 golfers representing the Iowa Golf Association will attempt to win the Tri-State Director’s Cup for the second straight time.  The biennial matches began in 2000 and have been won by the host association each time; Nebraska won and hosted the inaugural event, Kansas won and hosted in 2002 and Iowa captured the cup at Wakonda Club in Des Moines in 2004.

The 2006 playing is hosted once again by the Nebraska Golf Association; this time at the Arnold Palmer designed Arbor Links Golf Course (pictured above) in Nebraska City.  Four of the eight team members have played in a previous Tri-State Director’s Cup.  Jon Brown (04 team member), J.D. Anderson (02, 04) Cory Braunschweig (02) and Nate Dunn (04) along with ‘rookies’ Brian Verduyn, Justin Schulte, Terry Cook and Jeremy Danilson will look to bring the cup back to Iowa.

NOTES: The matches consist of partner play on day one with one session of Foursome matches and one of Four-Ball while the second day is for singles matches.  The Iowa team is chosen based on points earned in the Player of the Year race in the last two years, counting half their points from 2005 along with all of their points in 2006.  Mike McCoy earned a spot on the Iowa team but is unable to play due to scheduling conflicts.
