|Enter the Mid-Am, Four-Ball and Junior Am early
The IGA will begin accepting entry applications for early championships on Wednesday, February 15th. This includes entry into the Iowa Mid-Amateur, IGA Four-Ball and Iowa Junior Amateur Championships.
The Iowa Mid-Amateur will be contested at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora on Friday and Saturday, May 13th-14th. The field is limited to the first 144 golfers aged 25 or older. After a three year experiment the event will once again include a Senior Division. While a certain number of spots will be guaranteed to the traditional “Mid-Amateur” division, the re-institution of the Senior Division will likely mean that the event will fill, so be sure to get your entry in early.
The IGA Four-Ball has grown into one of the most popular events on the Iowa golf calendar. Bos Landen Golf Club in Pella will be the host site on Friday and Saturday, May 25th-26th. Like the Mid-Am, this championship includes an Open and Senior Division. The IGA expects another large, high quality field in 2012 as around 80 teams competed each of the last two years.
The Iowa Junior Amateur will once again be run concurrently with the IWGA Junior Girls’. The association heads up to the northeast part of the state as Centennial Oaks in Waverly hosts the state’s top boys and girls on June 11th-12th. There will be four age divisions offered for both boys and girls: 11 & under, 12 & 13, 14 & 15 and 16 to 18. The kids age 13 and younger will play only on day one while those 14 and up will play 36 holes total, 18 each day. Entry into the IWGA Junior Girls’ will also open on February 15th.
Entry into all other IGA Championships, IGA Member Play Days and IGA Members Net Tour events will open on Thursday, March 1st. You can view the schedules, entry deadlines, eligibility criteria and all other information relating to the IGA events by clicking here or the links below.
