Total Points in IGA Conducted Championships (Iowa Amateur, IGA Match Play, Iowa Mid-Amateur, IGA Four-Ball and IGA Junior Am) plus the best three point totals from sanctioned point events (including non-USGA national amateur events listed below) plus bonus points (USGA events).

Points for 2013 will accumulate through the end of the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship (Oct 10). Points earned in National Events that end after October 10, 2013 will count toward the 2014 Player of the Year race.

Player must be an Iowa resident and be a member of the IGA (enrolled on GHIN Handicap Roster at an IGA Member Club) to be eligible.

In tournaments with professional fields (Herman Sani, Iowa Open, etc) points will be awarded according to finish against the amateur portion of the field. 200 Bonus Points (400 total) will be awarded to an amateur that wins the Iowa Open.

Points will not be awarded to amateur players who are not Iowa residents and IGA members. Positions will not be elevated in order to award those points. For example: 3rd place points will be awarded the 3rd place finisher even if the 1st and 2nd place finishers are not IGA members.

Bonus points are awarded based on final finish. For example, a player who is a quarter-finalist in the US Amateur will receive a total of 600 points, not 225+250+350+475+600.

Tiebreaker (in order):
1. Points earned in the Iowa Amateur Championship
2. Points earned in the IGA Match Play Championship
3. Highest point total earned in a Remaining Point Event
4. 2nd highest point total earned in a Remaining Point Event
5. 3rd highest point total earned in a Remaining Point Event

The IGA Four-Ball Championship is a FULL Point Event! Points are awarded to each player based on team finish and at 100% of the Sanctioned Point Event Totals. For example, on the 1st place team, Player A receives 200 points and Player B receives 200 points.
