| The
2008 IGA Championship Schedule concluded on Monday,
October 6th with the 3rd Annual Club Team Championship
contested at Sunnyside CC. Sunnyside CC in Waterloo,
site of the 2009 Iowa Amateur Championship, provided a
strong test of golf for the 17 teams of four in the
field.
The championship format required each team count the
three low gross scores for a team score. When the scores
were added up it was the 2006 champs reclaiming the
title after a runner-up finish in 2007. Medalist Nate
Dunn's even-par round of 72 led Hunters Ridge
to the victory along with Mike Sawyer's 76 and a
74 for Todd Hingtgen. Their team score of
6-over-par 222 was seven shots better than host club
Sunnyside.
While Sunnyside CC came up short in the gross
standings, they were victorious in the Net portion of
the competition with a 4-under- par Net team score of
212. A trio of clubs finished 3 strokes back. The Net
format required each team to count the low three scores
on each hole.
