| Iowa Mid-Amateur Rescheduled |
| Heavy rains force event to be moved to Fall May 5, 2008 The 2008 Iowa Mid-Amateur, postponed over the weekend due to heavy rains, has been rescheduled to Sunday and Monday, September 28th-29th at the Tournament Club of Iowa.
All entries that were filed by the original entry deadline of April 24th are eligible. All those who withdrew before play or ‘did not show’ will be reinstated if they wish. Entry fees can either be transferred to another IGA conducted championship or a refund given for those who choose not to compete in September. In order to receive a refund, entrants must notify the IGA Office before the new entry deadline of September 23rd.
Because there are 2 1/2 hours less daylight in September than in May, the IGA will not re-open entries to the public at this time. If you would like to be put on a waiting list where you can be added once spots become available, please print and fill out a paper application by clicking the link below. You will then send in the application with a check for the entry fee. The IGA will hold your check. Should a spot become available you will be notified and your check will be cashed at that time.
Once the new deadline of Tuesday, September 23rd is reached we will follow normal IGA procedures for pairings and send the normal ‘Memo to Contestants’ with all the information needed.
Rescheduling an event of this size is not easy since most courses have full calendars and conflicts with other fall events (like football) are not easy to avoid. Under the circumstance we feel this is the best we can manage and the IGA is taking a considerable financial setback in order to make this possible.
