The Iowa team was victorious for the second straight year in the Senior Tri-State Matches against teams from Wisconsin and Minnesota. The matches were held on Monday and Tuesday on the North Course at Des Moines Golf and Country Club. The scoring for the event is a 3-point Nassau format in which a point is available for the front nine, one point for the back nine and one point for the total 18. Iowa led with 57.5 points on day one which featured morning Four-Ball matches and afternoon Foursome (Alternate shot) matches. Minnesota was second with 46.5 and Wisconsin tallied 40.
The Iowa Team had a very strong showing on the final day which was individual matches bringing the final scores to Iowa-133, Wisconsin-86.5 and Minnesota-68.5. Teams are made up of 16 guys, 12 that are 55 and up and 4 that are 65 and up. Congratulations to all the guys on the extremely strong showing.
